There’s a mini bar built into the seat, and while it’s cool for show, I don’t understand it. It may sound cramped, but it’s so roomy that I had no issue putting my suitcase, backpack, and amenity kit in front of me and still stretching my legs out fully. In fact, they just want you to put your luggage on the floor in the front of your suite area. I immediately picked up my roll-a-board suitcase to put it in the overhead bin, but I quickly realized that there were no overhead bins. The seat / suite is a pretty marvelous idea invention being made. My wife and I usually go for window seats, but this cabin is in a 1-2-1 configuration, and we chose the two middle seats, 2E and 2F, in order to be able to talk to each other during the flight. When we showed our first class boarding passes, they insisted on escorting us personally to our seats. When we entered the plane, they checked boarding passes, helping people with their seat assignments. The special jet bridge goes straight to the front of the plane so you literally never experience boarding with the “rest of the plane.” In fact, it boards right to the top floor of the A380, to the door which separates business and first class, so not only do you not board with the rest of the plane, you never even see the rest of the plane. This is available for both business class and first class passengers. They open up a single gate, and it’s quite convenient, and it does make you feel exclusive. One of its neat features is that you can board directly from the lounge. The Emirates lounge at JFK is really nice, and we had a great breakfast there. I’ve flown a variety of international business class routes, but I have been aspiring to save up points and book my wife and I on an Emirates A380 First Class route, and thanks a lot to dubai travel company for it has definitely been worth the wait! This flight marks my second A380 ride, the first being a Lufthansa business class flight. As a point of reference, I have never flown international first class before, outside of a flight on United Global First, which hardly counts. Otherwise, as I descended from the shower, the crew had both a pineapple and guava aloe vera juices placed on the counter outside the restroom.I’m writing up most of this trip report from the comfort of my personal suite on our Emirates flight from JFK to Dubai. So I spent the duration of my shower trying to keep the shower head still. I decided to try the other restroom and found the shower head to be loose and unable to stay upright. The second shower was not as pleasant as the first one. The crew was so excited for me to see the waterfall display. Why wasn’t this display available sooner? The full spa set-up is normally offered towards the end of the flight when passengers are preparing for arrival and in-need of freshening up. This self-service bar area is transformed into a gorgeous foyer with self-service tea, candles, and fruit. What’s different is the waterfall display that is set-up at the top of the staircase. I was over the moon impressed by the whole experience.Īfter resting and having a light breakfast, the crew insisted I enjoy the shower again for the full spa experience. The Dom Pérignon was poured table-side and I noticed the bottle was already half empty - which left me curious how often open bottles are re-corked.Īfter you’ve enjoyed your shower, the “spa” treatment continues with a special relaxation treatment with fruit and honey. I also placed an order of canapés which she advised would take about 10 minutes to prepare. The purser returned with my drink order which consisted of a glass of Dom Pérignon and water, served promptly with warm nuts. I knew I made the right choice of snacking in the Lounge and saving my appetite for the feast ahead. The menu was extensive with a range of dishes, flavors, and varying levels of light and larger meal options. She explained the dine-on-demand program and encouraged me to eat as much as I wanted, and whenever. During this time, the purser introduced herself and added her welcome. Moments later, the inflight crew sprung into action in preparation for the first meal service. The climb-out was a bit choppy but we managed to break through the clouds and level off 10 minutes later at 19,000 feet. Our flight took off at 5:19PM, roughly 30 minutes after pushback.
